Restaurant Laurus

Wonderfully restored restaurant has been opened in the main building of Helsinki University and it was designed by Carl Ludvig Engel in 1832. Restaurant Laurus is located in the heart of Helsinki next to the Senate Square.

At lunch time we serve three healthy university recommended lunch options: From the Favorites - traditional homemade food, From the Favorites - traditional homemade food as a lacto-ovo-vegetarian option and From the Field - vegan option.

All our lunch options includes main course, side salad and dressing, bread and butter and also drink of your choice. You can enjoy your coffee or tea for lunch in our pop up cafe.

* Coffee or tea are not included in the restaurant's student-priced lunch. For all other lunches, coffee or tea is included in the price.

Kela subsidizes a university student's lunch at €2.55/meal. You can get the student discount at the self-service checkout by using the Frank application or by presenting a student card entitling you to meal support at the service checkout. You can get the staff and doctoral student discount by presenting the discount card or other similar document at the service checkout.
